How many times have you heard ‘I’ve heard CrossFit is a cult’ ‘its way too hard, I’m not fit enough for that’ ‘ I heard they only eat paleo’.
I’ve heard a million, billion times. The simple fact of the matter is,what people say CrossFit is, is never actually what everyone was saying. Its normally the complete opposite.
I love it, and that’s because it is one of the most inclusive sports there is, anyone can literally do it.
Its mentally and physically challenging and it’s different for EVERYONE.
I come across people regularly wanting to come and train with me but they have some fears about not being fit enough, scared and generally worried what everyone will think.
What Inspired myself and my partner to create the space we have now?
To break down those barriers, I want whoever you are to feel safe and not feel judged when you come to train with us and get something out of the experience.
Yes I know what its like to walk into a gym and be scared, self conscious and just want to run back out that door, truth be told most Crossfit box owners do.
Here’s some reasons to come and try out our some of our classes…..
1. Its Universally scalable
If you cant do something because of physical or mental aliments… Guess what?! There is always an alternative! And nope you don’t feel like your doing the modded version because its made to be challenging for each and every individual. You have to walk before you run. So you cant do something today? No worries, I’ll make it so you can once we build you up to that! We recognize everyone is different and have to approach things differently.
2. You are coached EVERY SESSION.
Every session you have a coach watching your movements and making sure you are doing it safely and efficiently! If something isn’t right we try to get to the bottom of it!
Your coaches are passionate about what they do.
We, ourselves train and are continually getting our own technique critiqued so we know better how to handle you guys. We attend many different types of training courses to hone our skills.
3. The Community is like no other.
There are four words to describe the CrossFit community.. Awesome. Inclusive. Fun. Supportive.
Kind of like a Family hey? But one you have picked yourself.
Age, shape, size, fitness level, and what you may have done previously before CrossFit doesn’t matter. We just want to know if your a nice person and fun to hang out with.
We have a very unique support system here. Their generosity is second to none.
These guys pull you in and are there for you when you need them most. They help you struggle through the hard bits in the workouts.. and in life. And if you don’t turn up to your usual training sessions? A training buddy, a coach will find out if you are alright and give you the nudge you need. Because you are not just a number, someone will be missing you at the box.
Now I hear you, maybe they all knew each other before they walked in those doors? Nope they didn’t. We have sweated, laughed and cried all together and that’s what binds us and make such beautiful friendships.
4. There are no Egos
You have one job to do once you walk in those doors to come train.
Be 1% better than you were yesterday.
I don’t care what you did compared to Shannon right next to you. I care about what you did and how you are working towards reaching your own personal goals. The only thing that matters is how you did and not anyone else and did you give it your all, if you didn’t quiet get there, then we as coaches have to figure out what was your roadblock and how do we get around it!
5. Your going to do things you never thought you would do, and achieve & smash those goals you have set.
Most people have this idea of what they would like and what they actually do and are. Mostly because most people need a mentor or coach to help them make a sequence of events that lead up to where they want to go. When we picture ourselves doing that tuff mudder event, heavy dead lift, that triathlon or that bush walk we picture the end thing and not all the steps that lead up to it, and mostly people don’t know where to start to try and train for these things sensibly and safely. That’s where a coach comes into the picture to give you some clarity on what you need to do. As your confidence grows the more things you will want to try and experience.
6. It will open your eyes to new and individualize training methods
We painstakingly and methodically program for you guys to become the best version of yourself you can be. We research and test methods and training techniques to help make you fitter, stronger, faster and healthier. We don’t just pull programs from google, we program based on our observations of you whilst you are training. There is always a rhyme and reason to why we are getting you to do particular movements and exercises.
7. We know what we are talking about
We go through stringent training coarse and have high standards on ourselves as owners and coaches.
We continually communicate with each other and are always trying to better ourselves in what we do. We believe in the CrossFit method, and hold it in high regard. Yes we protect the name and that’s why we affiliate as a CrossFit facility, No we don’t just do a coarse and get qualified. We have to read a very in depth and detailed manual on how the body moves and how to train people correctly and safety. We then get tested and yes we have to pass to become trainers and we have to keep retesting. We are not your average gym, that just provides a session to you, we vigorously train our bodies and mind to provide a safe and challenging environment for you. Everything you do in our facility is well thought out and tested.
Now all you have to do is walk in that door I’ll do the rest.

Things are always harder in our heads until we actually do it and wonder what the heck we were waiting for….
